so, a little #occulttalk here
I brought with me an old #tarot deck that I got from a friend years ago, someone I'd been in a relationship once, and had been into magick a bit before getting disillusioned
a few years ago he asked if I wanted any of his books and stuff, and we had a pleasant evening looking through some things. I brought home a couple tarot decks, most of which I passed on to others.
I have this last one left, it's a "Universal Waite Tarot" similar to the very first tarot deck I ever bought for myself, and which then got stolen (it was in a backpack on the front seat of my pickup, which got broken into my first year in Seattle)
I feel a curious resistance to using the cards, "spoiling" them. I had been considering gifting a deck to @codeawayhaley but I dunno if she'd want this one
@kara Rider Waite is a good solid deck. Never did get on with Thoth. Recently got this beautiful Steampunk Tarot just for the art … and it turns out it's a really strong divination deck, and now I'm using tarot again…

as my "portable" deck I was using my water-damaged Thoth deck for a time until it took...even more damage
(about a week before I got sacked, that should have told me something...and the fact that it was my carelessness that did it, probably suggests I might have kept my job with a bit more deftness of touch)
I thought of replacing it, as a portable deck, with this "Universal" one. I've had it with me but not touched it till today
it's NEVER been touched. ever. the box is really beaten up, but the cards have obviously never budged from their starting positions. when I took the cards out, The Fool stuck in the box because it was on top
