@jjg I seriously believe that a large reason why we don't see good quality productivity tools these days is because the GUIs have become so damn hard to use that they interfere too much with the development of the intended core technology, the thing that delivers real value.

A good quality GUI should get the @#@$ out of your way, **WITHOUT** the need for HTML rendering layers and all that modern abstraction bullshido.

It kind of bothers me when people say there are no new regular users coming to Linux. In a country such as Colombia, where most people run "non-licensed" Windows copies and lose data and money every day, it's getting easier to convert people to Linux. And I don't mean techies; I mean normals: small businesses, freelancers and even entire families. I love Linux podcasts, but they so often forget there are people outside the US and Europe. Is anybody else in this instance from LATAM?
