Whilst reading a translation of 11th century south chinese monastic code I grew bored after four pages on how to filter water so no insects are harmed while purifying it for drinking. Decided to skip ahead a few pages and the first sentence of the second paragraph of the page I randomly land on:

"Once in her former life, this mother made a vow for some reason or other to devour all the babies in Rajagraha."

There's an internally consistent reason why that sentence is there in context, but I think it's more fun just to let it stand on it's own.
