If you can boost, that'd be great: I'm still looking for work (Can't seem to find anything and it's killing me) I do freelance work and I'm looking for a job that's tech-adjacent at least.
I am compent with SQL, PHP, HTML, CSS, Python(mostly 3, but I can do 2.7) and UI/UX Design. Also good at research, and non-fiction writing
Freelance or Full-time or Part-time work is fine. Need something.
@thatdelphox where abouts are you located? I'm in nyc and my company is hiring some, like, QA automation and stuff
@LogicalDash I'm in Reno, and moving aross the country would be basically impossible for me right now
@thatdelphox shit, sorry
@LogicalDash No worries, that's part of the issue haha
@thatdelphox Are you comfortable moving? The one I'm thinking of has CA and Tampa offices.
@thindol Not moving (Remote) is preferred to relocation, simply due to living situation.
However, I'm kinda running out of options, so I'm also looking at relocation, cos there doesn't seem to be anything here >.>
@thatdelphox I know they do remote options but the engineering team they've been trying to move increasingly on-site. That said, they really need Python and PHP, soooo...
@thindol Those two things are things that I know how to do
This is sounding good
@thatdelphox This article on Zapier’s blog is old but these places have openings now. I checked today.
@thatdelphox Also there’s WeWorkRemotely.com. Lots of front-end web stuff as well as PHP stuff all the time.
@muraii Thanks so much, that sounds really good :3
I'll check it all out
@thatdelphox Good luck!
@thatdelphox
Check out https://boards.greenhouse.io/wikimedia/jobs/884793 at Wikimedia Foundation?
And/or: In a few months perhaps you'd be interested in applying for https://www.outreachy.org/ ?
Best wishes.
@brainwane I will check those out, much appreciated
@thatdelphox Glad to provide a few pointers. I also wonder whether https://amara.org/en/recruitment/ might provide some immediate short-term work -- I haven't done it myself, though.
@brainwane short term is better than none haha
@thatdelphox If you might be interested in some freelance tech-oriented writing, send me an email at audrey@recompilermag.com
@audrey That sounds interesting tbh?
I'll send you an email, thanks :3
@thatdelphox Have you tried Upwork.com? It's it's the best of the freelancing websites imo, worldwide but remote working and there is plenty of stuff that fits your skill set.
@delabouche I feel like I remeber Upwork forcing your deadname, which makes work difficult for me tbh.
Not a fan of being outted as trans
Remote is preferred because of living conditions, but I'm looking into pretty much anything at this point, because I still need to pay the bills and I'm coming up empty
